By strategically placing the media bags in your sump, you can control the amount of water that could flow through the media and contact time.

Mesh Media Bags can be used for a variety of applications, from holding loose filter media to trapping detritus and free floating particles. In most applications, a reactor will be best for medias like carbon and GFO but some systems will not have room for a reactor, and that is where media bags are very handy. They can conform to AIO aquarium chambers or sump baffles directing flow through the media bag or placed in an open place of the sump for passive flow.
