Bulkheads allow plumbing to flow through your aquarium or sump.
Heavy duty Schedule 80 PVC bulkheads feature some distinct advantages over ABS bulkheads:
- O-Rings are 2X as thick as ABS O-Rings
- Schedule 80 construction will far outlast ABS
- Reliable seams
- Flange and nut side are very easy to grip
When measuring for bulkheads, you will need a hole in your tank that is slightly larger (1-3mm) than the “C” measurement for the corresponding bulkhead but no larger than the “A” measurement. (see image)
Example: If you have a 1.75″ diameter hole currently in your tank, then you would want to use the 3/4″ Sch 80 Bulkhead.
